Diagnosis and review

Data collection compliance review

We check how you collect other people’s data, and separate what was collected cleanly from what was collected around the rules.

Diagnosis and review

We are doing this in our own product right now — the checklist comes from what we found on our own collection. We are not claiming a history of delivering it to other companies.

01

When you need it

  • 01

you collect public data and have never checked how

  • 02

a source has complained, or you expect them to

  • 03

you are preparing for due diligence or a payment provider’s review

02

How it goes

  1. 01

we take your sources one by one

  2. 02

we check robots.txt and TDM reservations, whether your crawler identifies itself, whether there is a record of what was collected and when, and whether personal data ended up in it

  3. 03

we write down what we found and what we would remove, with the reason

  4. 04

we propose the record-keeping that protects you

03

What you get

A per-source report — what we found, what we would remove and why, written so you can hand it to your lawyer, whose reading of the edge cases it does not replace — a scheme for the collection record, and measures ordered by urgency.

What we need from you

The list of sources, access to the collection code and its logs.

04

What we do not do

We do not give a legal opinion — we are engineers, not a law firm; we do not represent you in disputes; we do not make an evasion “compliant”.

05

Formats

Remote, worldwide.

Written scope, agreed rhythm of calls, everything delivered into your repositories and accounts.

In person, in Chișinău.

The same work, with meetings face to face on an agreed rhythm. You work with the person who does the work, not with an account manager.

Price

Fixed or capped price, agreed before work starts. We quote after a 30-minute call — a scope we have not seen is a scope we will not price.

06

Ask about this work

The person who would do the work reads this, not a sales desk.
